Red Alert also promotes the prestigious annual event, The Nationwide Mercury Prize. This awards ceremony celebrated its tenth anniversary last year and Red Alert has been involved from the start. Each year Red Alert promotes both the event itself and the annual album release containing a track from each of the shortlisted albums. The Nationwide Mercury Prize is broadcast on Radio's 1 and 2 and is televised on BBC Television.
